A quick company history
An award winning, independent, multidisciplinary consultancy, offering specialist services in environmental planning, landscape design and ecology.
Established in 1985, the Company was created to undertake landscape design based on sound ecological principles, initially as a commercial trading arm of Avon Wildlife Trust.
Today, Landmark is a respected multi-disciplinary consultancy, currently celebrating 30 years of working on a large array of development projects for clients throughout the UK and abroad.

What we do
The Landmark team comprises highly skilled and innovative environmental planners, landscape architects and ecologists, all working collaboratively to deliver client objectives.
We apply these skills to all aspects of environmental planning, design and management, from baseline ecological and landscape survey and evaluation, through management of environmental impact assessment and negotiation with receiving authorities, to project design, contract supervision and long-term monitoring of developed sites.
The Landmark Practice is based in Bristol and works throughout Britain and abroad, with a varied portfolio of clients and projects in both the public and private sectors. Our portfolio.
How we work
Our approach is underpinned by Landmark’s high quality standard. This includes investing time in understanding the client brief, rigorous evaluation, high quality design that integrates sustainable principles and readily accessible reporting, visualisations, and presentations.
We thrive on devising realistic, cost-effective and innovative measures and designs that mitigate adverse impacts of development. We guarantee quality by ensuring that all projects are managed by an expert Principal Consultant, supported by an experienced and highly qualified team.
Accreditations and Awards
All staff are individual members of relevant professional institutions (RTPI, IEMA, CIEEM, LI and SocENV) and The Landmark Practice is a member of The Landscape Institute (LI).
Our projects have won several prestigious awards. Landmark’s landscape scheme for the Royal National College for the Blind has received the 2011 Heart of England in Bloom Award for Outstanding Merit.
In 2007 the practice was awarded the first RTPI Environmental Planning and Protection Award.
Bernice Roberts was runner up in the Regen SW Green Energy Award in 2009. She also was awarded the RTPI’s Environmental Planning and Protection Award in 2007 for her role in The Bristol Port Company’s Renewable Energy Project.
