Consultation and Facilitation

More than a token gesture

Meaningful planning consultation is more than simply giving information about a development proposal to the public. To be effective, and to protect against legal challenge to a planning application, consultation should be a dialogue which acknowledges the views of the community in the development area.

Our service

Landmark offers a range of consultation services, tailoring the most appropriate and cost-effective methods for the particular scheme and the local community. This might be a public exhibition, mail drops, on-line consultation activities or workshops, or a combination of approaches.

We identify stakeholders, organise events and venues, produce exhibition materials, and provide experienced planning and technical personnel to addressing public and Council meetings.

Our track record

We have significant experience in facilitating and managing events both in house and in conjunction with specialist consultancies delivering meaningful and effective community consultation programmes. We manage the consultation process, ensuring that schemes are cost-effective, well presented and debated before submission.

Client benefits

Effective consultation, undertaken as part of the design process brings value to what could otherwise simply be an expensive box-ticking exercise. Participants in meaningful consultation exercises often develop a commitment to the project, reducing the likelihood of objections or even fostering local support. Furthermore, the project often benefits from local insight, improving long term sustainability.
