Excellent news that Rag Lane solar has gained planning approval.
The Landmark Practice provided both landscape and ecology services for this circa 50 MW ground mounted solar PV renewable energy generating scheme, located to the west of Wickwar, just north of Bristol.
The scheme will provide renewable energy for around 15,000 homes, responding to the South Gloucestershire climate emergency declaration, and national and global carbon reduction targets.
The project includes a well-considered set of landscape and ecology interventions which look to retain, enhance and provide a strong Green Infrastructure network across the site which will support an array of biodiversity and improve connectivity for wildlife. Features include generous habitat corridors as well as extensive native planting in the form of almost 2km of hedges, a series of woodland copses and species rich grassland.
We at Landmark have a strong pedigree in supporting delivery of renewables planning consents and we are thrilled to have helped this one over the line.
