Landmark has been working with the Friends of the Dell Park for over 4 years now and we are very excited to see the Dell Park play area project (Chepstow) gathering momentum.

The draft designs for the play area have now been shared with the community and general public.  These designs have been informed by community feedback that has been collected by the Friends of the Dell Park volunteer group.  The brief was to transform the current, outdated, play equipment at the Dell Park, to create a modern play environment with a natural feel that compliments the historic port wall (scheduled monument) that runs alongside the park.  Substantial sections of the wall remain intact, and both the Port Wall and the Town Gate are also Grade I listed buildings.

The volunteer group continues to work closely with CADW and Monmouthshire County Council and the next step is likely to be an application to the National Lottery for funding to bring the play area forward.  The group’s grand designs don’t stop here, with ideas for further enhancements including recreation spaces for older children, a heritage trail to link the park and castle and further public spaces including for community planting.

The group are an absolute pleasure to work with and we cant wait to se the project through the next steps. Check out their Facebook page @friendsofthedellpark or friendsofthedellpc.wixsite.com/fdpc
