Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA)

Townscape and Visual Impact Assessments (TVIA), Landscape and Visual Appraisal (LVA)

We assess development proposals, determine their effect on the immediate and surrounding landscape and visual receptors, and identify what, if any, mitigation measures are required.

We use the latest imaging techniques to understand the visibility of development and can prepare accurate visual representations to show how the scheme will look in the landscape. These assesments are regularly submitted as part of applications for planning permission.

Strongvox Homes has used Landmark for landscape design and assessment at a number of sites in our region. The Practice establishes very good working relations with Local Authorities, which helps us to reach agreement on specifications for public open space, play equipment and other aspects of landscape design and assessment. This means that critical points of agreement can be reached, which limits uncertainty and the need for landscape planning conditions post planning permission. Landmark works well within our project teams and always delivers on time, often to tight planning programmes. I can strongly recommend the Practice.

Photomontage Production and Visibility Modelling

3D modelling along with visibility mapping forms an integral part of many planning applications, specifically in assessing the impacts of a proposed development within the landscape or townscape context. Our experienced 3D graphics team is able to generate and present a wide range of reliable simulation models, including photomontages and Zone of Theoretical Visibility models (ZTVs) professional software packages.

Photomontages and ZTVs are just two examples of these simulation models used to represent expected visual changes  and are produced following current guidelines as published by the Landscape Institute.

Landmark’s expertise and knowledge of landscape and visual impact is second to none. I’m always impressed by the quality of their service and collaborative approach – a welcome addition to any project team.
