Skills and expertise
Tom has over ten years’ experience working in the ecology sector and has worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from inner city parks to nationally significant infrastructure projects for both private and public sector clients. He has a particular interest in birds but has skills in a range of protected species survey including otter and water vole, reptiles and great crested newt. Tom also has skills in project management and producing ecological reports including PEA, EcIA, HRA and BNG.

Career summary
After completion of a degree in biology (followed by a two-year stint in IT) Toms career started with a European funded placement in Spain helping to manage a wildlife reserve in the Ebro Delta. Since then, Tom has worked for both small and large ecological consultancies in Bristol and Bradford-on-Avon.
Tom joined The Landmark Practice as a Principal Ecologist in September 2024.

- BSc (Hons) Biology – Oxford Brookes University
- Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (ACIEEM)
- Natural England Great Crested Newt Licence Class Level 1
- Barn Owl Licence to survey
- River MoRPh accredited surveyor.
