Recently, Jamie and Lucy from our landscape team took the chance to visit two sites that we’ve worked on alongside Strongvox Homes in Somerset. Both sites are residential schemes for which we provided landscape design services. It was great to see how the sites have settled in and how residents are beginning to use and enjoy the outdoor spaces.
The meadow areas were in full bloom, creating a vibrant and biodiverse setting for the community. The informal paths weaving through the planting encourage exploration and provide a relaxed, natural feel to the space. The play boulders and bespoke features have bedded in nicely, offering opportunities for imaginative play and informal gathering. Around the housing, amenity planting is establishing well, softening the edges of the built form and providing seasonal colour and texture.
Seeing the design brought to life – and thriving – is always rewarding. The successful establishment of planting, combined with the positive use of the space by residents, is a testament to the collaborative effort between the design team, contractors, and client. We’ve captured some great photographs during the site visits, which show the landscape at its best – a place that feels welcoming, resilient, and very much part of the community.
